39 CLUES

AWESOME.

AWESOME.

Go buy it. No, seriously, I'll wait.

Ready?

Okay, who is up for a 39 Clues party at the bookstore? At this party, we would all bring our cards and trade around for ones that weren't in the pack we bought. We would also possibly discuss questions we have about the website and/or the first book.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, please go buy the book.

FYI, you have to be between the ages of 6 and 14 to win a prize. Bummer for Jake-the-Girl (a.k.a. Me) who is 23.

And now, a semi-serious review:

39 Clues: The Maze of Bones is a revolutionary new book from Rick Riordan, author of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. In the book, Grace Cahill dies and leave an extremely controversial will. Several hand-picked members of her family are given a choice: they can take the voucher under their seat and redeem it for a million dollars, or they can join the hunt for 39 clues that will lead to a vast treasure. Amy and Dan Cahill, Grace's favorite grandchildren, decide to take up the challenge--but every other member of the family wants to see them fail. In this, the first of a 10-book series, Amy and Dan must find the first clues without the help of parents or allies.

The book comes with 6 game cards, which can be used to enter a similar challenge online. You can also buy card packs with a random assortment of additional cards.

I just bought this for my son and have been hoarding it for Christmas, but now I'm thinking I should read it real careful-like between now and December 25th...

Thanks for the review!
